I got an important advice for you. It's great that you try to copy pictures. That's a very good way to improve your skills. But the most important thing is to look at your reference pic really, really closely. That takes some time and can be annoying but it is THE key. At the beginning try to use a ruler, figure out each and every single porportion. That'll make your drawing/painting look similar to the reference. When you got that you can go on and try to draw things without no reference.

For practise: Open both pics in two different windows on your computer, the reference and your drawing. Look at every detail and ask yourself the question if your drawing really looks like the reference. It surely takes some time to work precisely, but it's worth it.
